Heritage House opened in June of 1992 as the first women and children’s residential treatment facility in Orange County. The six-month program has a static capacity of 16 adults and 20 children. Heritage House provides needs assessment, case management and service linkage, individual and group counseling, peer support groups, substance abuse/HIV/STD/life skills education, parenting skills classes, and sober social activities for mothers and their children. The program employs a full-time children’s specialist to provide children’s recovery counseling. Heritage House was the agency’s first Orange County program, leading the way for Heritage House North, Heritage House Village, and Heritage House Cottages – all serving substance-addicted women and their children.
