Frank Spring - National Director:

Frank Spring is the National Director of the RSA-United States. He has a background in policy, American domestic politics, and international affairs. He has worked for the United States federal government and the Mayor’s Office of the City of Chicago, and has served on a number of political campaigns. Prior to his appointment as National Director, Spring worked as a development consultant in New York. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, King’s College London, and the New York University George H. Heyman Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising.

Lynn Broadbent, MBE - Fellowship Director and Secretary to Board of Trustees:

Lynn has been Secretary to the Board of Trustees since 1990. Her involvement with the American non-profit sector began in 1983, a few years after moving to America to work as a linguist at the World Bank. She organized programs for the American Friends of the British Sporting Art Trust for over 20 years. She lives in Virginia with her husband, Bev, and the youngest of their three sons. The older two are both studying at universities in England. In 2002 Lynn was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her services in promoting the RSA in the United States.

Wendy Long - Research Associate:

Wendy is originally from Montreal, Quebec and grew up in Princeton, New Jersey as well as Vancouver, British Columbia. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BA in Psychology and moved to San Diego, California shortly after graduation. She spent several years working as a legal assistant at law firms in both Vancouver and San Diego before deciding to stay home and raise her three children. She moved to Virginia 11 years ago, by way of Kansas, and returned to the work force in 2003 as an account manager for an insurance company before taking her current position with the RSA.

Barbara Luce Ballard - IT and Media Associate:

Barb is a native Virginian. She graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a BS in Finance. Her work experience includes 10 years in private industry as the Chief Account Officer of a Washington D.C. area homebuilder. Her involvement with the non-profit sector began after the birth of her son in 1994, when she became involved with the National Primary Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). She currently serves on the IDF's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and independently operates an international support group for families dealing with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (also known as Bubble Boy disease). She is the web designer and technical developer for The Northern Virginia Cued Speech Association. She, her husband Don, and their son live in rural Clifton, Virginia.
