Livingston Taylor Saturday, April 21, 8:00 pm $34.50
Livingston Taylor has toured - some might say, perpetually - with such major artists as Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffett, Fleetwood Mac, and Jethro Tull. He recorded thirteen albums, and maintains a performing schedule of more than a hundred shows a year, which include club, theater, college, and full symphony repertoire. Wood and Steel Magazine calls him "an unrepentant romantic, with a razor-sharp mind, a biting sense of humor, and a quirky view of the world." A strong television background includes hosting a daily syndicated pop music show This Week’s Music for Viacom. Now a full professor, Livingston has lectured regularly at the Berklee College of Music in Boston since 1985. "One of the most consistently entertaining, tasteful, and intelligent of songsmiths..." - Dirty Linen Magazine www.livtaylor.com |

Pirates of Penzance, direct from London!!
Monday, April 23, 8:00 pm $44.50
Produced by the Carl Rosa Troupe, England’s oldest touring company, Pirates of Penzance is a British masterpiece that is a part of the great institution known as Gilbert and Sullivan, who went about "treating a thoroughly farcical subject with the utmost seriousness." The satire is delicious, the costumes are perfect, and the production genuine. This tremendous company includes orchestra, brilliant cast and full touring production support. "Sullivan's melodic gifts are at their freshest and the entire frothy confection slips down nicely... G&S won't come better than this" - Daily Telegraph, London. “Visually it is a Victorian treat. Sets, costumes, make-up and direction couldn’t be more traditional or stunning. Meanwhile, the plot and dialogue, the wit and the humour remain razor sharp. Sullivan’s wonderful music however, is the show’s crowing glory, delivered by first class cast of principals, chorus and orchestra.” - Press & Journal, Aberdeen, England http://www.carlrosaopera.co.uk/productions/pirates/pirates.asp |
