Books To Benefit Dogs & Cats

In 2008, local children's author Diana Tuorto released two middle-grade novels told from a horse's point of view. Proceeds have gone on to benefit various animal rescues and handicapped riding centers.

Luck of the Draw ($15) is the story of an unsuccessful racehorse searching for his life's purpose, and Janie's New Legs ($12) chronicles a special friendship between a paralyzed girl and a pony saved from neglect. Discounts are available on orders of three books or more when ordering through the author.

If you're interested in ordering Diana's novels, please mention Noah's Ark and she will donate 50% of each book's proceeds to the rescue--to take advantage of this offer, please email Diana directly at lunar_aradia@yahoo.com (payment can then be sent via check or money order). FREE SHIPPING and PERSONALIZED AUTOGRAPHS are included!

For more information on Diana's novels, please visit

Book about a Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association, Inc. Alumni
Pilgrim, Tales of a Traveling Cat
is a cat's eye view of the life, travels, and adventures of an urbane feline sophisticate in the world of his favorite humans.  Although only the uncharitable would call Pilgrim a "hustler" when he meets his new family in an animal shelter, he's already in charge, riding on the vet's shoulder.  Pilgrim is clearly a "people" cat, but he's still a cat and he's soon running the new digs, defending his garden wall against intruders, falling down storm drains, devoting himself to his humans, and winning them-and us-over. Ellen Hasenecz Calvert resides in her adopted home state of Arizona.  Born in New Jersey, Ellen considered herself a "Joisy" girl until 1988 when she fell in love with the fragile beauty of the Southwest.  Pilgrim is her first book.
