                                  Marianne Savarese

Project Director of the Health Care for Homeless Program in Manchester, NH since 1995. She is a graduate of St.Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, NYC and Adelphi University in Garden City, New York .

For twenty years, Ms. Savarese served in the field of Homeless Health Care at St.Vincent’s Hospital Dept of Community Medicine in NYC as Clinic Manager and Director of Nursing.  From 1983 – 1989, she also served as clinical consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation / Pew Charitable Trust - Health Care for the Homeless -national demonstration project, establishing new HCH programs across the country. Other professional experience includes: Clinical Specialist on Mobile Psychiatric Outreach Team for the Homeless in NYC; Director of a Migrant Farm Worker Clinic based in Western New York State; and as member of Prison Health /Correctional Medical Teams in New Mexico as well as New Hampshire.

Marianne has written and lectured about the Team Approach, Case Management and Staff Recruitment-Retention.   She is the co-author of: Health Care of Homeless People (Springer 1985) and Under the Safety Net: The Health and Social Welfare of the Homeless in the United States (W.W Norton 1990).   In 2005 she was appointed as an adjunct faculty member of Dartmouth Medical School / Office of Community Based Education and Research.   And in 2004 she was the recipient of the Good Samaritan in Health & Healing Award conferred by Pastoral Counseling Services, Inc. of Manchester, NH.

Marianne serves as a Director on the following Boards: NH Coalition to End Homelessness; VT/NH Bi-State Primary Care Association; and National Health Care for the Homeless Council.
