| In conjunction with his/her affiliation with Mountain Valley, each person shall: |

Fulfill his/her responsibilities with integrity, compassion, and respect for individual differences and choice;

Promote the provision of supports that meet the needs of each individual in a manner that promotes choice, inclusion, growth and development;
|
Respect the privacy of persons served and family members, and protect the right to confidentiality;
|
Give preference to professional responsibility over any personal interests;
|
Advocate for standards that promote quality outcomes for people served;
|
Contribute ideas, findings, concepts, understanding, and knowledge to the provision of services and supports that directly benefit persons served;
|
Encourage and advocate for the protection of the individual and the community of persons served against unethical and/or illegal practices or actions by other individuals or organizations engaged in or providing supports or services;
|
Not discriminate because of race, color, religion, age, gender, sexual preference, handicap, or national ancestry, and work to eliminate or prevent such discrimination in the provision of supports to persons served;
|
Promote inclusion and equitable treatment of all people including those receiving supports, staff members, friends, family members and the public;
|
Be a responsible steward of public and private funds;
|
Conduct all business functions in a manner consistent with fair business practices;
|
Represent the organization and people served in an accurate and factual manner in all activities including those related to marketing and public information;
|
Be a responsible member of and contributor to the community;
|
Be accountable for statements made with respect to individuals with disabilities and distinguish clearly, whenever appropriate, between statements and actions made as an individual and those made as a representative of Mountain Valley Developmental Services.
