The Deer Project
 |
The Deer Project is a new ministry at Good Samaritan. It was begun in 2008 by interested businessmen and hunters who saw the opportunity to provide protein to fill Good Samaritan’s freezers through the harvest of white-tail deer which are plentiful in the area. They have coordinated with high-fence ranchers, deer processors, hunters, local hunting organizations and supporters of Good Samaritan Ministries to develop The Deer Project.
Protein is vital to good health and nutrition, however, it is one of the most expensive items pantries and families alike must purchase. Your participation in The Deer Project will serve to meet the need of hundreds of families in our county who lack an adequate amount of protein in their diets and on their tables.

Ways to Help
Hunters and hunting organizations are typically known for their strong sense of community and commitment to special projects for needy neighbors. Your participation in The Deer Project is an opportunity to continue that legacy.
Share some doe
Use one of your hunting tags for a deer to be donated to The Deer Project. Take the deer to one of the participating deer processing plants and pay only $35 to have the meat processed for Good Samaritan’s Food Pantry.
Give Some Bucks
Donate “bucks” to pay the reduced processing fee of only $35 for those hunters who may have the deer and the tags but not the extra “bucks”. Give from the funds you have set aside for charitable projects to this very worthy cause. |
