Statement of Vision and Mission
Jesus Christ has called Cornerstone Christian Academy into existence and has given us the vision to be a model Christian school that provides children with a first rate education in a Christian context. We make it our mission to educate children, including those from at-risk neighborhoods, in an environment that provides the highest standards for academic achievement and spiritual development.
Statement of Core Values
Cornerstone Christian Academy affirms:
- That Scripture is the revealed Word of God and is taught as truth.
- That each student is a unique child of God with individual talents and gifts.
- That the home and school are partners in the education and development of the child.
- That students will be held to high academic and moral standards.
- That school leadership will model Christ in teaching, serving and leading.
- That the Christian faith will be integrated into all academic disciplines and school activities.
- That the school environment will be safe, disciplined and conducive to academic achievement.
- That school policies and practices, as well as curriculum and resources will be current and evaluated on a regular basis.
- That the school will strive to develop future leaders in a variety of disciplines.
- That school personnel and volunteers will maintain professional and ethical standards.
- That the school community exhibits love, kindness, respect, and justice in all organizational practices and in relationships among the trustees, administration, faculty, students, parents and volunteers.

Expected School-wide Learning Objectives
Graduates of Cornerstone Christian Academy will:
Academic Excellence:
- Be prepared for success in secondary and higher education or vocational endeavors.
- Be disciplined and diligent in completing all tasks and assignments.
- Be reading at or above grade level; able to decode, analyze and comprehend.
- Be proficient in mathematics.
- Possess a basic understanding of life, earth and physical sciences.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of people, events, and movements in history.
- Be competent in research analysis and in the use of technology.
- Be effective and persuasive in oral and written communication.
- Be able to approach all areas of study with an open mind.
Spiritual Maturity:
- Be rooted in the Christian faith, knowledgeable of God’s mercy and grace.
- Be biblically literate, able to apply God’s word to everyday life.
- Be globally sensitive with a Christian world- view.
- Be responsible stewards, caring for the earth and generously sharing of self and substance.
- Be witnesses for Jesus in everyday life, modeling Christ in word and deed.
Personal Character:
- Be committed to values of justice, peace, honesty, integrity and caring.
- Be respectful of and cooperative with all people.
- Be well mannered, poised and polite.
- Be respectful of authority and accepting of boundaries.
- Possess a moral conscience.
STRATEGIES FOR 2004 to 2009
We will become accredited with the Commission on Elementary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
We will provide an educational program that achieves measurable academic excellence at each grade level of the school.
We will recruit, retain and support caring, committed, conscientious and qualified personnel.
We will provide facilities and resources that ensure safety, elicit pride and encourage academic excellence.
We will expand and enhance student academic and social services.
We will develop a unified and loyal school community.
We will implement a marketing plan that increases Cornerstone’s visibility in the community, city and region.
We will provide more than adequate funding to support an educational program of excellence.
We will begin the process of establishing Cornerstone Christian Academy at the primary, elementary, middle and secondary school levels.
