The Children's Museum in Easton

Now that everyone has had their fun in the sun, it’s time for some light jackets and fall celebrations! Now that school is back in session we know that the weekends will be filled with fun things to do! Here are some of our favorite fall spots!

King Richard's Faire  Jesters

Spend the day enjoying King Richard’s Faire recreation of a 16th century English marketplace at festival time. You can enjoy live music, skilled performers, and delicious food all circa the Renaissance! Exotic animals, jousting knights on horseback, challenging games and Renaissance merriment round out a day at The Faire. There will be plenty of things to do for the whole family to enjoy!

The Big E

Don’t miss out on The Big E! New England’s largest Fall festival! The Big E! is a celebration of New England's most colorful season with a large entertainment list, major exhibits, The Big E Super Circus and daily parades! Special attractions this year include the 007 James Bond Spiral Stunt Car Exhibit. There is also a lot to learn about New England history and agriculture, animals, rides, shopping and craft activities.

Purgatory Chasm State Reservation

Purgatory chasm is a state preserved hiking park. It's a great way to get outdoors and go hiking with the whole family. They also have a lot of picnic tables, places to grill out, parking, and playgrounds. The chasm is filled with rocks and hidden caves, more suitable for the adventurous. The Chasm is believed to have its origin in the sudden release of dammed-up glacial meltwater near the end of the last Ice Age, approximately 14,000 years ago.

The New Bedford Whaling Museum

The New Bedford Whaling Museum is the largest museum in America devoted to the history of the American whaling industry and its greatest port. Kids and parents of all ages will love to climb about the Logada, the world's largest ship model, walk through the halls seeing artifacts from the whaling days, and see a real skeleton of Kobo, a rare, juvenile Blue whale.
