Scarecrow Stomp
a down-home fall family festival!
Sunday, September 20, 2009 11 am- 4 pm
(Our rain date is Sunday, September 27)
Bring some old or outgrown pants and shirt to stuff, and make a scarecrow to take home (we'll provide the stuffings!). Press some apple cider (and taste the delicious results), crank the handle of our old fashioned wringer washer and hang your socks out to dry (actually parents, the kids LOVE this chore), and dress up like a "country bumpkin".
Awesome autumn crafts, old fashioned games (remember the ol' donut on the string game?) and lively folk music make this a family-friendly event!
Going GREEN this year! Bring an old pillow case, cloth sack or purchase a burlap sack from us for a dollar! (instead of plastic bags we used to use for the head)
Admission to the Scarecrow Stomp is:
• $4 per person for members
• $8 per person for non-members
with a family maximum of $30 (at same address)
Admission includes all Scarecrow Stomp activities and admission to the Museum’s interactive exhibits. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Call ahead in the event of inclement weather.
Please limit to: 1 Adult sized scarecrow per family or a couple of kid sized scarecrows. Remember, your scarecrow needs space to ride home in your car with you!
