The Children's Museum in Easton

FAMILY TOPIC WORKSHOPS
Two GirlsPlease join us for our early evening workshops in our relaxed and comfortable setting in the lower level of the Children's Museum.  Specifically designed to help parents and educators, these workshops run from 6:30-8 pm at the Museum. 

• $5 per class
• 6:30 - 8 pm

Infant Massage Class 
This shared interaction between parent(s) and baby provides many benefits: it helps to relieve the discomfort associated with teething, gas and colic, helps babies sleep longer, and it helps to foster the parent/infant bond and communication.  Classes will include hands-on demonstrations with your child of massage strokes, relaxation techniques, and discussion.  Register for this 4-week class by calling Karen at (401) 444-5613.

10 Things Every Dog Owner Should Know
Own a dog? Thinking of adding a dog to your family?  Join us to learn ten things you should know about caring for and keeping your pet happy and healthy.  There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the presentation.  This class is for pet owners only.  Please leave your four-legged friends at home!

Be Healthy, Live Green 
Ready to head outside for spring?  During this training, participants will learn to identify and explore toxins and other chemicals found in everyday food, skin, and other products.  You'll learn healthier strategies to keep a healthier body in an environment that is often filled with germs, bacteria and chemicals.  This workshop may be especially helpful for parents whose children or other household members have compromised immune systems, allergies, and cancer.

Teaching Joy to Your Children 
Join us to explore curiosity and the zest for life.  We'll explore the meaning of joy, the excitment of discovery and the thrill of mastering something new.  You'll learn simple ways to build playfulness into your family's daily routine, how to use joy to increase your child's confidence and self-esteem, play to enhance their motivation for learning and humor to avoid unnecessary struggles in parenting.

Transitioning Into Summer 
Summer is fun and full of change.  Participants will learn strategies to help ease their children into summer: how to prepare for camp, family vacations, less structure and more play dates.  Parents will learn ways to help children prepare for socially and emotionally for different summer events.

About our presenters

Natasha Edelhaus
is a Massachusetts and California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with years of experience working with families, adolescents and children. She is a clinical member of AAMFT and CAMFT.
  
Susan Finn is a CME educator and owner of Buttonwood Ark, a local children's entertainment provider.  Susan holds a BS in Food Chemistry and Biology.
 
Dick Norton is a Dog Behavioral Therapist and Trainer.  He is the owner of Bark Busters, the home dog training company which serves the Metro South region. 
 
Robin Organ is the Executive Director and founder of GreenSchools, whose mission is to create greener and healthier schools.  She has a Master's Degree in Education.
 
 
 
Karen Swartz is a Certified Child Life Specialist and is currently employed at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI.  SHe received a BS in Human Development from Wheelock College, as well as her MS in Child Life and Family Centered Care from Wheelock.
 
Rosemary Wiseman holds a BA in Elementary Education and is a Reiki Master teacher and the owner of Angelwise Healing.
