We have renamed the Career Preparation Workshop, LEAP. The acronym reflects the results of successful workshops: Leadership, Employment, Achievement, and ultimately, Prosperity. These workshops help ladies and older teens, create or update resumes, and ensure that they look professional. As most of us know a professional-looking resume is the first step in getting in the door for an interview. They also give tips on what to do if you have a spotty employment history or have been in trouble with the law. In the afternoon the workshop focuses on interview skills. Most of us can remember the little butterflies flitting around our stomachs, as we prepared to begin an interview. These practice sessions with Human Resource professionals take some of the mystery and trepidation out of preparing for, and during, the interview process.

During the workshops we also set up free e-mail accounts and leave the ladies with both hard copies of their resumes and a disc with the resume so they can update it as needed.
