                                          2007 Celebrate the Children’s Ball

One-hundred bucks! This will allow you to experience a night of dining on award winning cuisine prepared by the five-star chefs at the Westin Hotel in Buckhead. However, this is only a fraction of what you will receive. Following dinner, our world class DJ will get the party rolling with the hottest dance tunes from today as well as classics that will make you ask yourself, “Is there a doctor in the house?” Some will catch Saturday night fever. We will also be “Celebrating the Children” by awarding New Hope Scholarships to deserving high school seniors living in group homes and shelters around metro-Atlanta. The scholarship winners will be decked out in their elegant tuxedos, lavish gowns, and stylish hair-do’s. They will not only look and feel like a million bucks, but they will also be thrilled and reassured to know that they will be college Freshmen in the Fall. In addition to the dinner and dancing, we will be auctioning off wonderful vacation packages, beautiful jewelry, gift certificates, and memorabilia, to name a few. There will be items to appeal to even the most unique taste! So what are you waiting for? Impress your spouse, slam dunk a date, grab your circle of friends, and join us in “Celebrating the Children!”

Saturday, July 28th, Westin Hotel Buckhead

                                 2006's Celebrate the Children Ball

The 2006 Celebrate the Children Ball was a lot of fun and a great success.

BMW Raffle GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Dr. Myra Carmon

We did not sell the 800 tickets needed for the BMW so she walked away with a check for $11,400.00! Dr. Carmon has been a huge supporter for CRN for over 5 years, providing physicals to thousands of children at our Back 2 School campaign over the years

First Place - Mary Converse - 42 inch flat screen plasma TV

Second Place - Chuck Moldenhauer - BMW Mountain Bike

Stay tuned for information about the 2007 event.

Thanks so much for your support!

2006's Celebrate the Children ball was the biggest and best yet! The 8th annual event was held at the Marriott Windward Parkway on July 22nd. The theme was "An Evening of Magic" and there certainly was magic in the air! A strolling magician, a violinist, and a jazz pianist added to the party atmosphere. WSB-TV's Jocelyn Dorsey, Mistress of Ceremonies, did a wonderful job. She introduced the honorary chair for this year's Back to School campaign, Tre', a young hip-hop/R&B artist. Tre' then gave an impromptu performance, to the delight of the crowd. Jocelyn also graciously served as auctioneer for CRN's 1st live auction.

This year, six New Hope scholarships were presented. Four of them were given to high school seniors: Anthony Collins, Quinesha North, Gino Payne, and Maxine Peterson. The other two were awarded to college freshmen: Aljerimiah McKeithan and Coco Hunter- last year's awardees who are both doing great in school. Another CRN first this year was a raffle. The grand prize winner, Dr. Myra Carmon, was awarded $11,000. Second prize was a 42 inch flat screen television, and third prize was a BMW mountain bike.

Proceeds from the Celebrate the Children ball are used for CRN's Back to School Readiness program. This program provides school supplies to children in homeless shelters throughout the school year. Children's Restoration Network strongly believes that keeping homeless children in school is critical in the fight to end the vicious cycle of homelessness.

We are grateful to all those who attended the ball and/or made donations to the Back to School campaign. Please make plans to join CRN next summer to help "Celebrate the Children".
