Children's Restoration Network will be holding its 14th Annual "12 Days of Caring" campaign this December. We will be collecting new toys, gifts, and clothing for over 2,000 children living in shelters and group homes in 19 counties around metro Atlanta.

"Wish Lists" from children in shelters and group homes can be picked up at the leasing offices at all Post Properties, Dick's Sporting Goods and School Box stores in metro Atlanta. After the gifts have been purchased they can then be returned to the collection box at the Post Properties leasing offices Dick's Sporting Goods or the School Box. Or you can just bring assorted NEW gifts or clothing to a collction site. CRN serves over 120 shelters and group homes and we want to make sure that none of these children residing in one are forgotten during the Holiday Season. Collection dates are November 28th through December 20th

Items Needed:
Items include new toys, gifts, games, books, new clothing, shoes, winter clothing, cosmetics, ethnic dolls, cds, walkmen, alarm clocks, watches, sports equipment and clothing, jewelry, scrapbooks, baby items, and many other items. Traditionally we have collected considerably more than we need for the younger kids and considerably less than we need for the older kids, so let's not forget the older kids. Clothes sized XL to XXXL, and shoes sizes 9 to 12 are greatly needed.

Adam Hanif with Jim at the Barnes & Noble on Northpoint Pkwy. Adam is carrying on a family tradition by collecting new books at the Barnes and Nobel in Alpharetta. In the last several years over 3,000 books have been collected.

Volunteers Needed:
Volunteers are encouraged to assist with all or part of these activities. We will need people who can promote these activities at their business, church, school, or club. We are especially looking for schools, or school clubs, or businesses which would make collecting gifts their holiday project. We will have the wish lists of over 1,900 children and we will match them as well as we can with the gifts we have collected. Volunteers are asked to bring some giftwrap, tape, tags and ribbon, if you can afford it, or, we will provide it. This "Wrap Party" is a whole lot of fun. We have food, entertainment, and a whole lot of Holiday Cheer. You will feel the true Spirit of the Holidays at this party. This year's dates are December 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd. Times are from 9:30AM till 6PM. Volunteers are also needed as site coordinators for these sites: Post Properties, School Box stores, and Dick's Sporting Goods. They will make sure that the collection bins are not overflowing. Volunteers can keep the gifts at their house or bring them to the CRN office. Hopefully the site coordinators can transport the gifts from the collection sites to the Wrap Party site- which is still to be determined.

Once the gifts are wrapped we will have made arrangements for the delivery of the gifts to the shelters and group homes. Volunteers are always needed to deliver the gifts and to have parties with the children at the shelters. There are many more details but this is the outline of the program. We can supply flyers, newsletters, posters, and collection boxes. We can have a CRN representative talk to interested groups about the program. This is a really great opportunity to give back to the community, fun for the whole family, and a way to open the eyes of some kids who don't realize how lucky they are. This is an excellent way to introduce kids or friends to the satisfaction and rewards of volunteer work. Feel free to call 770-649-7117 or e mail, info@childrn.org if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
