Parenting Education Programs

The Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma believes the family structure is the single greatest influence on an individual’s overall health, development, and well-being. We believe when parents are provided a safe, non-judgemental environment where knowledge and skill development is encouraged and confidentiality is protected, they will have the capacity to become healthier human beings and better parents.
The encouragement, safety, and accessibility of our parenting education programs will allow parents the chance to improve their lives and effectively contribute to the well-being of their children and family.
v The parenting education programs are designed to help parents discover how to be loving, responsive, and effective guides for their children. The programs invite participants to make changes in their parenting style in order to effect change in their children.
Participants will come from many segments of society. Some parents will be referred via the court system or the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. Others will be referred by local schools, churches, doctor’s offices, youth serving agencies and therapists. Our hope is that others may hear about the program or seek the program out to deal with challenges of parenting.

- Parenting Wisely Computer Program
- a highly interactive parenting education program. Parents can participate in a FREE interactive computer program that allows them to view typical family problems and strenghten skills by learning the the use of "I" statements, active listening, assertive discipline, role modeling behavior, setting consequences, single family parenting, stepfamily conflict and much more.
