ADVOCACY ON BEHALF OF THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY
Often, a proposed initiative or development in immigration policy or law at either the Congressional or State level, will positively or negatively impact our entire service community. CENTRO ROMERO has taken non-partisan action advocating for initiatives that benefit our service community, or against proposals and developments that negatively impact the community.
Much of CENTRO ROMERO’s advocacy initiatives are conducted through our coalition and professional memberships, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), Coalition of Asian, African, Arab, European, and Latino Immigrants of Illinois (CAAAELII), and the Organization of the North East (O.N.E.).
