| Older Projects
We have been doing international goodwill through People Helpers projects for a long time but we incorporated as a 501 (c)(3) in 1999 to allow contributors to help us with projects.
In November of 1999 we began our work to establish a sister city with Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan and Arvada, Colorado. In that work we have done some amazing projects with small teams of dedicated volunteers. Since that first visit, we have enjoyed 9 exchanges between the two cities:
school assemblies emergency preparedness training healthcare survey medical relief Department of State briefing presentations of our best practices from coast to coast anniversary celebrations in both nations law enforcement workshop water treatment and sewer utilities evaluation and consultation economic development consultation educational and cultural exchanges
In February of 2000, we began a unique relationship between three churches, one in Mexico and two in Colorado (one Spanish speaking and a large English speaking church with a heart to help!) We have contributed labor and materials for the development of the Alpha and Omega outreach in Chihuahua, Mexico as they reach out to the poorer people on the frontiers of a major city. We have done several projects but hope to return soon to renew our relationship to the people and the vision they have for their community.
Please visit our more recent activity on our Mexico and Kazakhstan pages. Also, see our new project proposed for Substance Abuse Recovery.
