Breaking the Chain Foundation's tutorial has partnered with Making the Grade Tutorial Service, LLC providing tutoring in reading and mathemathics.
Youth between the ages of six and seventeen who have no more than two juvenile offenses and who reside in the District of Columbia. Youth must also have at least one parent/or guardian who is incarcerated or under corrrectional supervision and is not in imminent danger of hursting him/herself or another person.
Special Program Component
The Homework Center combines the best of the practical with the hope of better lives to come. BTC provides students with a safe, alternative environoment where education is key.
Program Goals

To provide tutoring to youth in Math and Reading.

To provide Life Skills Training to the youth.

To provide a safe haven and stable environment for learing.
Frequency and Duration of Contact
The Homework Center is presented to parent(s) or guardian(s) who have children and youth that are experiencing difficulty in Math and Reading. The parents/guardians will provide the Homework Center with the child(ren) report
card(s) and the child will be given a pre and post evaluations by Making the Grade Tutorial Service. This pre and
post evaluations will determine the Reading and Math levels of the youth prior to entering and completing the
program.
