Vision

Our vision is to see that all people of color and high-risk underserved  individuals get the appropriate culturally relevant disease prevention, education and testing in an accessible setting and that we see the day when HIV is no longer the lead killer for the African American Community and a concern for underserved individuals.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Brotherhood Task Force of Northwest Louisiana, Inc., is to develop and implement effective, culturally relevant disease prevention services, education and HIV counseling and testing to people of color and  high-risk underserved individuals in Northwest Louisiana.

Corporate Values

The corporate values governing Brotherhood Task Force of Northwest Louisiana^s development will include the following:

  • Brotherhood Task Force operates in accordance with the highest standards in all relationships with clients, Community Base Organizations and the community.
  • Brotherhood Task Force fosters a climate which encourages underserved individuals  to get tested, get educated and get involved.

Major Goals

  • 1. Encourage African American stakeholders to take action to help stop the spread of AIDS in their communities.
  • 2. Provide specific answers to the question: "What can my community-based organization do to stop AIDS from spreading in our community?"
  • 3. Identify the people most at risk for HIV based on their behavior.
  • 4. Identify characteristics of effective AIDS prevention programs that can be replicated for African American communities.
  • 5. Identify barriers to treatment and care in African American communities and present culturally appropriate remedies to these barriers.
  • 6. Make recommendations to develop effective, comprehensive behavioral and clinical research strategies.
  • 7. Make recommendations to AIDS service providers about how to more effectively work with Traditional African American Institutions.
